Cleveland City Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Melissa Bishop as the next Principal of Yates Primary School. Melissa Bishop, who has dedicated 20 years of service to Cleveland City Schools, will be stepping into her new role as Principal of Yates Primary School for the 2024-2025 school year.
She previously served as the Assistant Principal of Yates Primary School. Since 2010, Melissa Bishop has made significant contributions to the district as an Instructional Specialist, where she has successfully coordinated K-12 instructional and RTI (Response to Intervention) facilitators. Her leadership has been pivotal in overseeing the district's K-12 RTI program, greatly contributing to the success of Cleveland City Schools' instructional initiatives.
Melissa Bishop holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. She also earned a degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Lincoln Memorial University.
Mrs. Bishop shared, "I am humbled and thrilled to embark on this journey as the new Principal of Yates Primary. I am eager to contribute to our school community's rich traditions while fostering a nurturing environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and personally."
