Instructional Resources

Instructional Resources

Cleveland City Schools ensures that students, staff, and families have access to instructional resources to further their education success through various means. The district provides online access to textbooks, educational software, and digital resources through its learning management system. Additionally, the district offers a comprehensive library program, which includes physical and digital materials. Cleveland City Schools also partners with local organizations to provide students with access to resources such as tutoring, college and career planning, and enrichment activities. The district's commitment to providing equitable access to instructional resources ensures that all members of the school community have the tools they need to succeed.

Summer Camp

Cleveland City Schools offers state-of-the-art summer curriculum and learning for students at many grade levels, not only interventions. It's a great opportunity to make sure students are ready for success during the school year.

Dyslexia

According to the International Dyslexia Association, dyslexia is a specific learning disability that is neurological in origin and is characterized by difficulties with accurate and fluent word recognition and by poor spelling and decoding abilities. These difficulties typically result from a deficit in the phonological component of language that is often unexpected in relation to other cognitive abilities and the provision of effective classroom instruction. Secondary consequences may include problems in reading comprehension and reduced reading experience that can impede growth of vocabulary and background knowledge.

Raiders XD

As part of the Tennessee Accelerating Literacy and Learning Corps (TN ALL Corps) tutoring program, which started in 2021, Cleveland City Schools offers an after-school tutoring program for students. The program is designed to mitigate learning loss and accelerate student achievement. Students meet in small groups in 30-45-minute sessions, two to three times per week.

Response to Intervention (RTI)

Response to Intervention (RTI) is an educational strategy designed to provide early and effective support to students who are struggling academically. This approach involves a tiered system of support, with interventions becoming more intensive as needed. The goal is to identify students who are at risk of falling behind and provide them with targeted interventions to help them catch up. RTI is a data-driven approach that involves ongoing progress monitoring and data analysis to inform instructional decisions. By providing timely and effective support, RTI can help prevent academic failure and ensure that all students have the opportunity to succeed.
