Candy's Creek Cherokee Elementary Field Day Reminders for 5/18: (1) Grades K, 1, 2 - 8:30 - 11:00 A.M. (2) Grades 3, 4, 5 - 12:00 - 2:30 P.M. (3) Bring a water bottle (4) Bring money for the concession stand! Items will be $1 and up. (5) Dress for warm weather and wear sunscreen! (6) Pack a change of clothes in your backpack!

Our Candy's Creek Cherokee Beta Club would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the businesses and families who helped them with their latest service project for an organization known as Sole Hope. Students were able to assemble 25 shoe templates to send to Uganda!
At a conference last summer, Mrs. Martin learned about a grant opportunity from Battelle and TVA that provides funds for STEM activities. She wrote a proposal, and it was granted $3500! The TVA STEM Classroom Grant Program, sponsored by the Tennessee Valley Authority in partnership with Bicentennial Volunteers Incorporated (BVI, a TVA retiree organization), is designed to fund STEM learning projects in classrooms and schools in the TVA service area.
“The Tennessee Valley Authority understands that excellence in education is the key to our future,” said TVA STEM Education Manager Rachel Crickmar. “We want to work directly with teachers to support initiatives that advance STEM activities in the classroom to develop a talent pipeline for TVA and its customers."
We'll enjoy getting to see the 5th graders participate in the One Step at a Time project!
